Shooters Shooters are games where you are in control of some sorta "flying" vehicle, often in space. And the object is to waste all those suckas coming at you, while at the same time trying to power-up your vehicle.

Exclamation !

Thank you for the re-upload of this game! I was so dissapointed when I missed this one the first time around. It took me almost 2 weeks to get all 4 discs with having to work but now I can finally chalk this one up to my shmup collection. Nice work.

It's actually a parody of sorts of Mazinger, Getter, and other 70's robot shows. Though whether or not an anime series actually exists is another story as I've seen some sites very dedicated to Geppy-X (aka Geppy Robo). I played this game before and I had a blast playing it. Also, the soundtrack is top-notch and you would be envied by everyone if you have the actual OST album with the full versions of the stages.

BTW, this is my first post, so please to meet you all.

Welcome to SOR!
My question would be, is it worth it to download the 4 discs if you don't know Japanese?!

You really don't need to know Japanese to play this game as it is a side-scrolling shooter, though you will miss out the game's story and in-jokes on various anime. I only know very little Japanese, but I enjoyed the game nonetheless. In my opinion, it's really worth the download just because the game is simply fun to play and has a huge replay value because you can get 3 different endings, as well as unlocking other characters (4-5 in all, including an 'Americanized Geppy-X' called "Star Geppies") to play.

As a bit of anime and J-pop trivia, among the famous singers singing the game's 8 stages are Hironobu Kageyama (who sang the OP of Dragonball Z), Isao Sasaki (Grendizer and Getter Robo), Akira Kushida (Space Sheriff Gavan), and MIO (Aura Battler Dunbine). Plus, the pilot for Geppy-1 is voiced by Akira Kamiya, the voice of Ryoma Nagare of the original Getter Robo series.

And yes, the game is only 8 stages long. The reason why it's 4 discs, is because it has a lot of cutscenes (you need to get all three endings, and defeat all the bosses in different Geppy-X forms (you can transform your Geppy Robo anytime in the game) to view them all, including the mock "Geppy-X: The Movie" trailer) as well as the soundtrack.

Thanks for the killer upload!

I wonder if there are any others that feature Getter Robo G, Grandizer, or Gaiking. Now THOSE were the shows I worshiped as a kid (and still do).
