Arrow (PC) Interstate '76 (1997)

Interstate '76

Interstate '76 is an alternate view of the American southwest in 1976 during the oil crisis of the time, you take the role of Groove Champion as he attempts to get to the bottom of, and avenge, the murder of his sister by a shadowy bad guy. The game's engine is based off Mechwarrior 2, and that's a good thing, but the physics are more tuned towards car mechanics (puns definitely intended). There is an excellent single player story mode to zoom (sorry can't help myself) through and the voice acting is top notch... when you're driving about make sure you hit the 'C' button on your keyboard to hear a little of Taurus' poetry, it's lovely. The action doesn't stop there though as I76 also has robust instant action and multiplayer modes, a probable legacy of it's MW2 ancestor. You can go nuts when customizing your car... you choose the basic model, weapons loadouts, wheels, performance enhancements, the works. The combat itself is fun and the cars each handle somewhat like they should depending on their make so there are lots of tactical options to explore and configurations to tweak. If you fancy yourself an Autoduel fan or you just fancy roadkill then this is your ticket to ride (so sorry). Enjoy with much double happiness please!

Since this is the Interstate '76 Arsenal package, it includes I76 Gold which adds 3D accelerator support (D3D, nothin' exotic) and the I76 Nitro Pack which adds a prequel single player story. No patches needed, just install and play!
