Issues with (PS2) Xploder HDTV Player

I've tried burning the Bin file(Converted to ISO then ESR patched) onto the DVD and when I try to run it via ESR it gets stuck at the red screen.

Same thing happens if I try to use ulaunchelf to launch the elf file.

I'm using PS2 slim with FMCB 1.8 no modchip.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. I've used both versions, the one originally posted and the one in CSA's pack. They are definitely different versions as one of them says "hacked by so and so" on the intro screen and the other doesn't. However, neither of them work. I press start and it doesn't restart the system as CSA says, it just sits there expecting the disc.

Is there something else I'm missing? I'm using FMCB 1.8 on a fat V4/5.

There's another program called GS Mode Selector which is supposed to do the same thing, however I haven't yet tried it. It's on PSX-Scene.

Alright, made some progress.

Instead of booting with no disc, I booted with a PS1 original (may work with original PS2 games also, my drive doesn't read DVDs). Hit start, and as soon as the screen goes completely black, eject the disc. You'll be back at the PS2 menu in the new resolution.

HOWEVER, after choosing a res and booting HDLoader, no games will load. Just black screen. I believe I'm using 8.3c

Guys/Gals, Do a search for GSM Mode selector, Does the same job and will also play your ps1 games by component. It's under development at Psx Scene. And compat with HDLoader

Unfortunately this is down to the game itself. HD works with a Horizontal pixel resolution of 720. Unfortunately, some games only allow 640 to be sent to the screen and sometimes even just 512. This is why the screen appears to be vertically squashed.

Works! with ps2 game dvd!
But it still does not work wioth hdadvance 2.0 or hdLoader 0.8c
What does work is the SwapMagic.ELF.
You can now use hdtv xploder with backups and othe region discs.
I just tried a burned Gradius V
Work in 480p.

I also been busy with gsm 0.36. Great stuff Results below:

Battle Gear 3, 480p but upper part (seems like shading effects) are scrambled.

Work but one part of the interlaced signal is taken and doubled making it look like a ps1 game, resolution wise:

I had a problem with running gsm, but I just formatted my mc and installed free mcboot again. It now works again.
