How do I play ecm file games in psx emulation?

To explain, ECM is a way to remove unneeded data from an image. This can be done on ANY cd image having to do from Sega CD all the way to Nintendo Wii *from old age to new age consoles that are CD based*. It basically allows you to compress the file into smaller data on your hard drive and also makes it easier to upload and share over the net.

Now, here is my guestimation. If I read this site right about ECM.

You should be able to just download ECM, then convert it back to original form. I haven't ever messed with ECM, but upon reading what it is, I can pretty well assume that may solve your problem.

Update: Damn lol. This program was harder than I thought to figure out, but I finally figured it out.

This program is actually pretty damn useful. What you do is *for compressing purposes* you cut/paste the image your going to compress into the same folder you extracted ECM in, then you take and drag the image file on the file called ecm.exe that's how you make it into an ECM file.
Then in 7zip it. You will see a BIG difference it saves on space. HELLA difference.

Now to answer your next question on how to convert it back to it's original form. You simply take the ECM file and you drag it on top of the file called unecm.exe. Upon doing that, it'll convert it back to it's orginal ISO/BIN+CUE/whatever the hell format it was file.

That's all there is to it to convert it back to it's original form to be able to play it on an emulator/burn it. Just drag it on top of the unecm.exe and let it do it's magic. Don't forget to download ECM first!

I usually make a special folder in the program files called "ECM" and put all the needed exes there. :D

ecm files are playable only when you uncompressed them
I also drag and drop them into unecm.exe
then usually retry to burn them with the same cdd file your download came with.
