Inspired by the "superhero movie within the movie" finale of Walt Disney Pictures' film "Chicken Little," Disney"s Chicken Little: Ace in Action features Ace, the superhero alter ego of Chicken Little, and the Hollywood versions of his misfit band of friends: Runt, Abby and Fish-Out-of-Water. The crew of the intergalactic Battle Barn faces off against Foxy Loxy and her evil Amazonian sidekick, Goosey Loosey, who have an evil plan to take over Earth. Battle evil alien robots through multiple levels across the solar system and combat your foes in one of three distinct game play modes: Ace on foot as a soldier, Runt as the driver of an armored tank, or Abby as the pilot of a spaceship. The original Chicken Little and his friends Abby, Runt and Fish we know from the film are featured in cut scenes throughout the game.

When we were growing up, there were those whom we idolized and admired. Whenever we had doubts, they gave us guidance. Whenever we were scared, they gave us courage. Whenever we were lonely, they gave us comfort.

The romanticization of heroes and heroines would sound corny to those who have grown out of that phase. Most would think a hero or heroine something akin to a cartoon character or action figure. However, heroes and heroines can be our parents, our role models, our siblings, our teachers, even our rivals. Regardless of whether its Martin Luther King, Don King or King Arthur, everyone has someone they look up to, and that's all all a hero need be.

Ever since I was a child, I grew up with myths and legends told by mother at my bedside, and my favorite was that of the female Japanese warrior, Tomoe Gozen (巴御前). She is said to be one of the few true examples of "female samurai", given that she was the first into the fray and captured the most victories on the battlefield even during a time when it was absurd to think of women as anything more than homemakers.

Her example of strength inspired me to study the style of the weapon which she was thought to have wielded on the battlefield - the naginata. While I kept on studying and practicing the martial art because it was fun, I would never have taken it up were it not the case that it was Tomoe's weapon.

Even though there are no reasons to jump into the fray for the honor of one's house or one's country for a civilian like myself, I still do follow her example in the way that if someone or something threatens my family, I will run right into the thick of the chaos, ahead of my husband if need be, just as Tomoe spearheaded the attack with her master behind her.

Below is a depiction of what Tomoe may have looked like, but pictures from ancient times do tend to romanticize some aspects.

----

That said, would you care to tell us your heroes and heroines were and what were they like?

My husband and I are planning to buy a Wii just to round out our recreation room, but I wanted it more for the Wii Fit attachment. I've listened to several coworkers in my department who have purchased a Wii solely for the purpose of using the Wii Fit component, and they swear that the experience they received was the most fun and effective in terms of losing weight and keeping their figures in check.

If there's one thing I fear most about pregnancy, it's that I won't be able to fit into my old clothes because of all the weight I'll gain in the process. With the diet I'm on, that is a certainty. So, I want to try a way that will allow me to have fun burning away all these excess pounds. I'm not having fun putting them off, so punishing myself to lose them is not on my agenda.

But, I'm an informed shopper and like to ask the opinions of as many people as I can get (without getting out of my chair, after all, it'll be painful for me to do so in the coming months) before I make a purchase.

Here's my question. Have any of you used the Wii Fit and have gotten a fun, enjoyable, and effective experience in exercising, and has it helped you lose weight?

I just noticed this while my husband and I were fighting over the remote to the stereo (I wanted to play some Satie, and he wanted 50 Cent). The PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii don't have disc changers. Most of you who have mid- to full-size stereo systems with CD players, also have a tray or retainer that retracts to accept multiple discs, which you can instantly switch without manually opening a tray to replace the disc.

It puzzles me that no system so far has had this capability, which I believe would eliminate the hassle of replacing discs, especially games for which one must replace the disc in order to continue the story to backtrack. The 360 has several of these games, including:

-Lost Odyssey (4 discs)
-Star Ocean: The Last Hope (3 discs)
-Final Fantasy XIII (3 discs)

Anyone who has played Star Ocean on the 360 has found out that it is very bothersome to pop open the tray and replace the disc, only to find out that you have to replace it again when you revisit an area, or heaven forbid, you accidentally press the A button when you're not supposed to.

This problem is compounded by the 360's disc tray malfunctioning, being unable to pop out or fully close.

I can't think of any reason other than lack of space in the internal compartments which justifies the lack of a disc changer, especially when we're at the 7th generation of consoles and multi-disc games have been available on the PSX (Final Fantasy VII, anyone?).

What are your thoughts, and if it could be made possible, would you opt for a disc changer in your system, despite issues such as a bigger case and heavier console?

Crime City is a classical point-and-click adventure. You play Mr. White, a poor chap who writes detective stories but wants nothing more than to be a real private investigator. It's a pretty classical story: one day, he can't really write a thing, but then, a mysterious blonde stands before his door, telling him his Father, Henry White, was arrested for murder. It's up to you to prove the police wrong.

A difference to the classical adventure exists: you need money to travel, get information or training. To get money, you can trade at the stock market. What's also different is that the time of the day really matters and that the protagonist becomes sleepy after staying up too long.

You play professor Alan Russell, an eco-activist who was offered by a company named Subtech to design Biosphere 4. Biospheres are large complexes holding artificial ecosystems. Russell wanted to develop a synthetic plant that could efficiently transform CO2 into oxygen. But those plants soon turn to be killers: they can move and suck CO2 from the lungs of human beings. Russell opposes any further works connected to those plants, but Subtech continues the researches and is unable to prevent a disaster...

Russell is trapped in Biosphere 4 and has to find his way out. There are four ecosystems ("biomes") in Biosphere 4: rainforest, savannah, ocean, and accelerated evolution. Russell has to overcome all obstacles and to stay alive in this bizarre world.

"Biosys" is an adventure game with simulation elements. You control the environment in the artificial world, but you also have to take care of your own condition. You must drink, eat, and sleep. Different kinds of nutrition will have different effects upon you, your condition will change depending on where you decided to sleep, etc. The rest is standard puzzle-solving gameplay: finding items, operating switches, etc.
