Digimon Rumble Arena NTSC-U for Playstation.

THE GOOD:
Quite High-Quality Graphics
Good Music And Voice Acting
Most of the rest of the Game, really!

THE BAD:
Slightly too unfair sometimes in the more difficult battles.

SUMMARY:
Digimon Rumble Arena is BanDai's answer to Super Smash Brothers, and what an answer it is!

The game features 24 Digimon in total, including Agumon, Veemon, Guilmon and Renamon, among others. These Digimon can, during Battles, Digivolve into more powerful forms, such as WarGreymon and Metal-Garurumon. Successfully completing the game with any of the initially available Digimon will unlock that Digimon's Digivolved form in all Modes other than Single-Player Mode. In this case, the Finisher cannot be used until the Digivolution Gauge is full, but the Digimon will not De-Digivolve after using it.

There are also other Digimon to unlock, such as Black-WarGreymon, Reapermon and Omnimon, plus another Mega-Level Digimon and the surprise extra Rookie Digimon (and also his Mega Form if you complete the Single-Player Mode as him).

Each Digimon uses its own traits to win its Battles. For example, Patamon uses his ears to fly and jump around the arena, while Mega-Gargomon uses his powerful missile launchers to make up for his fairly slow speed.

The Arenas themselves are very cleverly created. "Revolution" is a gigantic, square-shaped Stage which revolves every few seconds; "The Glacier" is a large icy structure on which most Digimon will slip a lot, and also has icicles and falling platform edges for the player to watch out for; "The Sanctuary" has a lot of platforms in a pleasant sky setting, which every now and then turns dark and causes lightning to rain down on the arena; "The Wilderness" is a simple Stage on top of a waterfall with a few trees to use as platforms and a cliff at either side and large boulders rolling down from a cave behind the Stage; "The Volcano" features a (very literal) rock face in the background, which causes the lower half of the Stage to "erupt" and be set alight in places for a few seconds; "The Waste Disposal Unit" is set inside a factory on File Island and contains a warp system for smaller Digimon to use, plus conveyor belts, cranes, crates and a set of blast doors, all of which are affected by the alarm; and the hidden "Back Dimension" Stage is a Stage which is seemingly infinite in length (because it is actually an immense loop) with amazing background patterns.

The Control System is incredibly well-done, and the graphics are very effective for the console.

All in all, a highly-recommended game.

Digimon is a total rip of Pokemon and as if that wasn't bad enough this game is a rip of Super Smash Brothers. Aye, this pirate could care less... it's all booty to me. Aaarrrr...

This game is addictive. I can see now how you can compare it to Super Smash Bros. The only downside is that this is actually the PAL version (SLES-03841) :(. It still runs in an emulator though so no biggy. I went to test it and didn't stop playing until about two hours later. Looking forward to getting the real NTSC U version for my collection.

Unfortunately this is NOT the NTSC-U version, but the PAL version of the game... :-(
If you, like me, want to burn a CD to play in a real PSX in NTSC-U... you'll be sad... :'-(
Nobody have the NTSC-U version?
This will be REALLY SO COOL! ;-)

There is a thread in teh guides section that tells how to convert from NTSC to Pal....there are programs that can do it for you....so go ahead and DL it even if your console is NTSC-U or J.....it doesnt matter if you know how to Google.

Are you totally sure that the new link by rifleman is the PAL version?

That way I can ask Matrlx if he can check his version and see if he have the NTSC-U one or the PAL one.
PS: And if you ttested it and is already the PAL one can you please tell me if it is multilanguage?
Thanks in advance.

It's SLES_038.41 and yes it is multi-language....when you first load it it asks what language you want.

IzaHova,
first, THANK YOU by your fast and good support! ;-)
Second, CONGRATULATIONS to EVERYBODY who created, support and announce this *VERY* GOOD site! :-D
Backing to the topic...
I knew about games patch and now I know a bit more, because I read more after your reply - your links and the search tab contributed for this! ;-D
But the reason to appreciate the NTSC version of the game, instead download the PAL version and patch, is that after you do this, you see a lower screen of the game... something inevitable because of the differences of those 2 standards, am I correct?
Of course the games are totally playable, and I really go for that always that there is not another way, but if possible... I always prefer the original NTSC! :-)
Once again, THANK YOU VERY MUCH and SORRY if I posted in the wrong/improper place! ;-)
For me it's a privilege to be a member of this *GREAT* community - NO ADULATION! ;-D

No problem...glad you enjoy teh Forum. I think if you get a RGB cable hook-up it should fix teh screen thing. Im not for certain tho...it might be unavoidable due to teh patching.

6 months ago I did my "debut" here in SOR Community, posting firstly here in this thread.

That time I downloaded the game and noticed that, in truth, the image uploaded was SLES-03841, not SLUS-01404. Well, if you take a look, will see about this.

Now I see your new post, game reupped... tell me, it's really NTSC or still PAL?

Tks! :)

What's the difference between PAL and the NTSC-U versions of the game ?

In this case (Digimon Rumble Arena), nothing.

But if you want to run the game in a REAL PSX console (not in a PSX emulator to PC, like ePSXe), and that console uses the NTSC standard, so the differences begin to appear... this is my case! :)

In resume (this topic is SO including that from now I'll just reply your question), the differences between NTSC and PAL suggest that you choose the fit version of the game if you want a PERFECT image in your TV conected to the PSX console! ;)

Cute, cuddly and ready to rumble! Digimon Rumble Arena comes to life in this truly Digimon-umental release! It's time to see who is truly powerful here: Takuto and his little red dragon or Davis and the all-powerful Veemon? With Digimon Rumble Arena in our PlayStation, you'll get to match the 2 little critters up and see who goes down first! This Smash Brothers-style free-for-all sets up 24 Digimon from all 3 TV seasons against each other in 7 different battlegrounds, each with its own hazards and items to snag. Each fighter has 3 main moves, typically including one long-range or melee attack to add even
more action. As you score hits or sustain damage, the Digivolve meter at the bottom of the screen fills up; once it's filled you'll be able to Digivolve and unleash special attacks and finishing moves that'll humiliate your opponent. Finishing the one-player mode unlocks extra Digimon and 3 different minigames. With user-friendly controls and loads of adventure, this game will have the whole family coming back for more.

Take a look carefully at the pw posted in the first post.

Use it as a literal expression, that is: exactly as informed, letter by letter. Don't search the pw in the site!
