Yeah, this game is awesome! But, it's more of a beat-em-up, actually.

Sidenote: How do you guys get the file sizes down so small?

Actually, what you do is ( if the file is HUGE...like Panzer Dragon... ) you split up the file, then compress each of the split...it's how I got the Tomb Raider II files so small. Then if they are small enough, compress them together to once again make it smaller....but I think thats too risky lol. But either way yea...I split them up using HJSplit and compressed them using Winrar...and btw, I have NO idea how to make my own insigna or I woulda done it by now...Not one that could be easily copied anyway....

Try:

or

And remember that all problems with downloads (including password problems) belong in the Download Difficulties (http://snesorama.us/board/forumdisplay.php?f=51) subforum, not in the game thread.

I'm having some trouble with getting this game to work. It seems to load properly, but as soon as the opening cinema is over (whether I press start or let it run through) the game just freezes. I am currently using SSF version 0.08, and I was wondering if that was the case, but it's the only emulator I've gotten to work.

i downloaded this file and used winrar to unzip it but instead of bin/cue file like most of the other downloads im getting a .cue, a music file in the form of .rar, and a iso file in the form of .rar

when i try to "unrar" them i get a big list of .bins and .seqs
is there anyway to get the proper bin/cue out of the iso file ?

thanks for all your help

Hello to everyone. Great community here. And so I hear this is a great game too. But I have some troubles getting it to run. On both SSF and my real Saturn using the swap trick, the game loads up and plays the animated intro, but then stops at a black screen. Whether I cut the into short or let it play out it stops at this blank screen. Any help out there for this problem?

I had to convert the sound files a few time to get it to work. Go for the highest setting when converting to a .wav if you have trouble with it going blackscreen.

Actually, what you do is ( if the file is HUGE...like Panzer Dragon... ) you split up the file, then compress each of the split...it's how I got the Tomb Raider II files so small.
So far so good, but...
Then if they are small enough, compress them together to once again make it smaller....
...compressing a file that is already compressed serves absolutely no purpose, except to annoy the people who download it, who have to unpack the data twice. The RAR file you uploaded contains 2 more RAR files, and you can notice that their "packed" and "normal" sizes are absolutely identical.
Converting WAV files to MP3s helps, but the CUE file in the archive should be rewritten to refer to those, and not to the original WAV files. Which is exactly what I've done here.

You can actually compress the file in 7-Zip format, then Zip the 7-Zip file with WinRAR and it will become even smaller.

EDIT: The statement above is incorrect.

i got exactly the same problem, can anyone tell me to solve it? pretty please..

edit: anyway the above happen when i mount the iso file. because i can't mount the .cue file it says "The track file type is currently unsupported." so i can only mount with the iso file. btw , i'm using daemon tools lite

Zombie11

The reason this game is causing so much trouble for people is because all the iso's posted in this thread have bad .cue files. Mp3 does not go in a cuefile people, daemon tools won't take it. And even if you change it to wav the cue file is still wrong, which is the case with the image posted by Iblis

Instead of providing a guide I'm uploading my version of the game with .wav files and a correct cue file made with sega cue maker. It works perfectly in SSF test 10. It will be bigger, but it will be better

http://rapidshare.com/files/145744113/Guardian_Heroes.part3.rar
http://rapidshare.com/files/145749756/Guardian_Heroes.part4.rar

This version can be mounted with daemon and works in SSF

hey man thnx for posting the links - i am obsessed w/this game and have been toiling all morning to play it...but...the game stalls at the first screen that says licensed by sega. D:

i use Yabause b/c i couldn't configure my xbox 360 controller w/satourne and i had a lot of probs w/ssf

plz help me - this is the only game i even want this emu for - i neeeeds it...

Edit: i DLed deamon tools and am trying to use it as the drive for SSF - when i load the .cue it only mounts the .wav files and not the game >.< if i had my preference i would use the yabause prog but idk at this point - i kno i'm doing something wrong i just need someone to tell me what

Edit2: ok i finally managed to get my hands on a proper .bin/.cue set up - no muss no fuss no millions of individual files. so as to not put ne other fan of this fantasctic game through the ordeal i went through i took the liberty of bundling the bin/cue into a zip and throw it on megaupload so here it is.

no password b/c i dun care about gettin cred - i jus want this to get spread areound:D

below will be the url

The only thing I don't know about this game is the Source Code!!! -v-

... baffled. :O_o:
'Suppose' doesn't quite cut it.
Going by the initial cover (see where I'm going here?),
I marked the thread as PAL-E and split up the last mirror to a new thread...
as THAT one was the only upload actually marked as such.

Waiting to be corrected and http://i66.servimg.com/u/f66/11/66/59/77/saturn10.jpg (http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=6210)
