60 hours WITH side quests is more accurate. The game is probably about 30 hours between Disc 1 and 2, and 10 or so more hours of Disc 3 without side quests, or leveling up.

Been reading some of the stuff posted here and it's extremely informative and need I say PAINLESS. Consider me an extreme newbie who doesn't know squat, but I made it through the download process (except for the rapidshare links in which I got the message that the links had been removed...thank heavens for the alternate megaupload links) Aside from that everything is okay so far. I even managed to get through the RAR stuff unscathed. Now all I need to do is figure out how to actually burn these...and the emulation stuff of course...

BUT at they say...I got nothing but time.

Please keep up the good work guys...I will definately be back lots and I have a few games that you might like...once I figure out how...

You have to download winrar from www.rarlab.com i think thts the website if not type winrar in google then wen u install winrar make sure it is associated with the .rar file type. After u just right click the .001 or sometimes the .000 file and click extract here sounds simple doesnt it?

there are certain movies in the game, that are copied onto each disc. because you dont have to be playing on disc 3 to see some of the movies from disc 1, some of the movies are on all disc's :>

sre you can remove movies to reduce size but i dont think you could make 1 dvd out of 4 CDs..it wont work.

First , wrong place to post this.Second extract with the same program fils was compressed with. Then open emulator , go to file then go to run iso and pick the game you wanna play. Hope this helped.

Im not really sure what you mean by your stuff , im assuming you mean items and epuip and all that stuff. If you do , yes it does. And i dont think this was the right place to post this.

Heh , not sure , i guess Download difficulties/gameplay issues section , but maybe not. And to answer your question , no , it will not automatically play. I would suggest saving it , then hit the escape key , then go to file in the emu , then change disc, then pick iso , then select the next disc of the game. This is if your usin ePSXe , dont know what to do with a different emu. Also , game may lock up or not work , thats why i said save , so if it does mess up , you can just restart the emu and start with the next disc.

Final fatasy 7 is by far the best video game ever created. The file I downloaded for part 1 is a .001 The Emulator won't read that file. How do I convert it into a .bin or whatever the file needs to be?

That's because .001 is a 7-Zip archive, you have to extract the file to get the image, and to do so, you have to download all the files of CD1 (all three files), and then extract them after reading that guide on how to do so.

This is just not the best RPG game of all time. It's the best game in the WORLD above anything else and should be on top of an All-time Best list if there is one.
i spent massive amounts of time on this. The timer was maxed out at 99:99:99 and most my characters were at max level. I beat Sepiroth with ease everytime. I never beat Weapon in the sea or the one in the desert though.
The story in it is gripping. i played FF8 but it never got me as much as this did. And i never completed FF8 either.
This game gave me eternal memories and the music is just awesome. I will never forget it.
Number ONE!!!! Big up for getting this online. I still have my Hardcopy though and in pristine condition. I treated it like gold.:propeller:

I dotn know if anyone else is havking this problem but iv put 20 hours into FF7 i am currently level 40 and i just went to the gold saucer i over trained alot worked hard on the game but it freezes after the cutscene where the tram goes into the gold suacer well theres no cut scenes since its a rip but it freezes where the cut scene is supposed to be

CD3 is badly broken and littered with uncorrectable ECC errors (CD1 and 2 have errors as well, but they are all correctable); there's a good chance for graphics, sound, or gameplay errors on disc 3. Unfortunately, I don't have a clean image of it at the moment, so I can't provide a patch. Just a heads up.

FF7 is a fun game. However compared to newer RPG game's its a bit slow especially in the battle system. Yeah I know it was back then, but I don't really like the turn-based battle's, real-time battle is the best type. Anyways, FF7 is still a great game with a great storyline.

Well, I'm playing on ePSXe from an ISO. And I just checked: The second disc has the [b] symbol on the filename. That usually means "bad dump". Discs 1 and 3 have a [!] which means "good, approved dump"

Excellent! I love this game, it is one of my absolute favorite RPGs. I am glad that I found this site because i recently lost my original copy of this game in the process of moving to a new place(so much for making sure everything was packed good heh). I'll keep making mirrors just cause idk if the ones here are any good, although uploadarmy.com gives a good deal (Free premium account that has unlimited file life). Also notice that I have included the file names in green, this is because some file hosts like to change the name of the file so it's just a reference just in case. Tested with WinRAR so any file corruptions are from your end, make sure the download is completely finished and all the names match the names from above and they are in the same directory. :P

I used the main links (on the first page of the thread) for CD2 and it looks like it's corrupted (it won't extract correctly, both winrar and 7-zip fail). I now try the mirrors.

The original Japanese version came without those two weapons, they where added later for the foreign versions and brought back to Japan in a rerelease. But I didn't know that there is an US version without those weapons.

Having some problems, everyting seemed fine after extracting and stuff. Then i started to play it. Right after the first cutscene when you get down from the train and the two guards come at you, instead of the fight starting it freezes ; ;

I finished downloadin all the parts of cd 1 (mirror), but whenever I extract them something like 'wrong password' shows up. I try putting http://snesorama.us in the password but the same thing happens.

If its a .7z us 7zip and if its .rar use winrar and extract all the parts (one cd at a time, dont try to extract all three cds at once lol).
For example,
CD 1:
FFVII disc 1.rar.001
FFVII disc 1.rar.002
FFVII disc 1.rar.003

Extract those 3 files (could be more could be less) together. Do the same for the other cds if needed. Then use your favorite program, I recommend Alcohol 120% and burn the image to a blank cd. Then enjoy.

Hey guys, I'm wondering if someone can help me. I just downloaded this game, everything went fine with extracting and all that. When I boot up the game it gets into the intro movie and once it gets past that and I get into the VERY FIRST battle with the soldiers it freezes and the screen goes all glitchy.

Can anyone help me, maybe tell me if I've done something wrong with the extracting?
