There are some games that work better on older versions of ePSXe. That means there are game that are unplayable on 1.60 but will work fine on 1.52, and otherwise too. Always check the ePSXe Compatibility list (http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=349) and the game's thread to see emulators and plugins necesary to play smoothly the game.

well there are two parts for each cd
you need both parts to extract the bin and cue or whatever the format may be in this case ... and the other 2 parts is for cd 2 and so on ...
hopefully that helped you out with your questions ..... -) some some have 1 cd and some have 2 or 3 cd's even ... depends on the game and etc .... the graphics .. movies ... -)
umm winrar? 7zip? depends on what it is in .... either use winrar if its rar file .. or get 7zip ... that version is prolly fine I dunno ... I have 1.60 and 1.70 ;p there is other emulators you could try if that don't work ... like PSX 1.13 or PsxEven .... -) but I usually use PSX / -)

The program you have to use varies on the file extension. If it's a .rar file, use Winrar, if it's a .7zip file, use 7zip. If the files are .001, .002 and so, join them using HJSplit and then extract them.
And for the emulator: There are games that work better on 1.52 than the newer versions. This one is one of them :).

I really like the upload and appreciate it, though I'd love it so much more if I get mine to work. I've downloaded it several different times, different mirrors and all. Every time it looks like it's working, the game starts up perfect, opening and all. Then when I start a new game, pick my vibration options, then a black screen appears that never fades, even after like 10min, or when I take off the frame limit, it just doesn't work. I'm currently using version epsxe 1.6.0. However I later downloaded 1.5.2, and it did work just fine, so yes, thank you for the upload. However, I am a little uncomfortable having to have two emulators for the same console, and even same group for different games. Is there any way around this, is there some way I can play this game on the 1.6 version as well, or can anyone tell me why it doesn't work? If not then this will do, it's a good game, but just wondered if I could avoid the inconvenience.

I'm afraid that won't be possible. Chrono Cross is more "compatible" with 1.52 specs than 1.6 and that's it, that's an ePSXe problem. Now there's 1.7 but I haven't tested it yet. Just use 1.52 to play this game and have 1.6 to play the others... I honestly don't see that much of a trouble :)

Well, since you've tested the game in 1.7 and worked fine, can you put the plugin config you used in this thread (Compatibility tests here (http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=32897))? Since Chrono Cross is not on the actual 1.7 compatibility list, you may put your configuration so that we can update the list! :)
If you do that please check the rules:
- the game's name
- the region
- the plugins that you used, remember that the default (and most compatible configuration) is posted in the first post of the epsxe170 compatibility list thread (http://snesorama.us/board/showthread.php?t=32755).)

I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this problem, but when I'm going from disk 1 to disk 2, I try to use the "change disk" option on the emulator, but nothing happens... bit of help please?

You can use Change Disc with ISO or CD ROM. With ISO you load the bin directly, and with CDROM you load the CDROM :boink4: (if should be mounted or in the disc from your computer). And it works.

A true sequel to a great classic, many would think I'm mistaken, but I invite you to play Trigger, and then give it a go trough Cross, and prove me wrong, at first it doesn't seem so... but it really closed the circle started by Trigger, the only two downfalls I see in this game was:

First: Huge cast means poor character development for some... many got their 15 minutes, but some where clearly fillers, this was sad... but still i love Cross the best!
Second: I like MORE! yes... more... I just don't want this train to stop... guess my wish was not granted... T.T

Amazing game! Thanks for the upload :D Too bad I can't play it... I tried playing it but it kept freezing and stuff so i started trying different versions of epsxe like 1.7, 1.52, etc.. Also different plugins. Eventually i got it working but my sister deleted them!!! So now I have everything downloaded again, the game runs fine, except! I have a problem in game.
