There's a gameplay option called "Dramatic Battle" in the game where it's just like the end of the original SFII Animated movie (when Ken & Ryu square off against M.Bison)...Basically a 2-on-1 battle

This is a really nice game. It is much better than the one for the PSX. Over 30 characters?! I just wish they had put the 3 extra characters like the gba edition:( . BTW, nice upload.

Don't post anymore of these kinds of comments in a game thread. Read the rules and post problems in the Download Difficulties/Troubleshooting section. You're not that new. You should know better.

Hi everybody. Thanks for the download of SFA3.cdi. I downloaded it successfully but I don't know what to do now. Do you just put it in the same folder as Chankast? I followed the help guide on how to configure everything with Daemon Tools but when I try to mount an image it says "Invalid image to mount". I am pretty sure that the downloaded file is not corrupt. Please, anybody, tell me what I should do!

Sorry, but I don't think this game is compatiable with Chankast. You must burn it to a CD-R with Discjuggler or Alcohol 120%. If you want SFA3 on your PC, you'll have to resign yourself to Mame or the playstation version on emulator.

That's what I just said. If you can sucessfully run the game, and provide a screenshot of it in operation, that would be very helpful.
Also, I looked at the combatibility list at that site you linked me to. According to the list, it isn't compatiable: http://www.ngemu.com/dc/chanka.php?action=compat&show=S
Were you perhaps talking about a different emulator..?

Thanks for the mirror tech romancer. Still having the same problems. Its apparent that My favorite game doesn't work on for dreamcast emultors nor burning it and playing it on dreamcast. aaah! This download is not a bootable image..... So discjuggler just made me another coaster... Does anyone have a link to one that actually selfboots? I don't even know WHY you'd want to run this in an emulator... Surely the Mame version would be far superior.
Anyone got a bootable copy? I've got the original, but I'm guessing this gets me past the RGB Scart problem... My TV doesn't have S-Video or Composite options.
Alternatively please, is there an easy way to make cdi's bootable?
<EDIT> OK, i found bootdreams - I'm burning an image now which i'll test. Then I'll upload it to rapidshare... if it works.
I am having a more serious issue with Darkstalkers though. is there an RGB patch for this at all? If anyone knows?

if your using the demo version of the program. when you start burning you get the message that says it wont burn more than 700 megs.
in the same box a second popup will show up when you try to burn THIS game. it will say theres something wrong with the file and asks if you want it to try to fix it. click no. if you do that it should burn fine.

I believe it is working in Makaron..the emulator was recently updated, and, while I can't use it (don't need to anyways, real DC is fine thanks), I do keep an eye on it. He had to rewrite some GD-ROM code and he recently did and it fixed Street Fighter Alpha 3 and a few other nonworking games. He seems to text on the NTSC-J version but they should both work..

The Dreamcast is still what you'd consider a hard system to emulate. I don't remember where I read it, and I don't know how true it is, but, allegedly, you need about 10x processing power of what you're emulating for spot on accurate emulation (of course there would be all kinds of variables which kind of makes this statement invalid). The Dreamcast only came out one console generation ago. Not only this, but, NullDC and Chankast are both still works in progress- neither are finished, nor do they claim to be.
Definitely just buy a real Dreamcast if you want full speed. I definitely consider my Dreamcast to be my best investment.

I found a way to make it work with chankast 0.25
Delete the file in the chankast folder 'chankast.cfg'
game should work by doing this.. however when you close chankast it replaces the file. if only some1 cud get a fix hmmm ..
oh yea and you have to re select your drive the game is in .. also choose your input method as well..

Whereas I fully respect other people's subjective preferences, I cannot condone the practice of making such unjustified statements. To begin with, in terms of graphics the Dreamcast port and the arcade version are identical; no missing frames, sheer excellence. Obviously, the same goes for sound. Personally, when it comes to graphics I prefer an emulator (Final Burn Alpha) since it is equipped with 2xSai algorithm, which dramatically improves low-res sprites. Yet, it's not about the game itself. Moreover, I daresay you can't have played the Dreamcast port, because if you had, you wouldn't be spreading such fallacies as the Dreamcast port having 2 buttons missing!! They are all there, but I must concede using the L and R triggers is not terribly convenient. Lastly, the Dreamcast port (like virtually all home ports of all arcades) contains a selection of extra modes. World Tour and Dramatic Battle make this port superior to any other including the original arcade itself. Feel free to differ, but I want to know your arguments (the unique smell of cigarettes from the bar where you first played the coin-op does not count).

To anyone still struggling to get this to boot on a PAL machine. It just boots over and over right? Wrong, Use PAL Patcher 20a and apply the user-defined patch Street Fighter Alpha 3 RGB fix AND PAL patch No.1 (unceck the other 2). Worked 1st time for me and I have tried over 10 different uploads from all over trying to get one to boot. If anyone still can't do it pm me and I'll sort out and upload if someone can tell me how to split cdi files.

NOTE: I've seen some people uploading my releases in other servers. I recommend you always getting
my releases of my uploads in the forums above, because sometimes I release fixes or re-launch some
games that have problems. If you get my uploads you'll be sure of having the latest releases.
Additionally, you'll get the original package, not images made from discs, so you'll be sure that
nothing is corrupted.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 (NTSC-U)
-------------------------------
Ripped: Nothing.
Downsampled: Nothing.
Source: GD dump.
GD file order has been used, so reading performance should be better than other releases around.
Another fighter from DCRES. Have fun.
Features of my release:
- Not corrupted files at all, it was made with GD dump files.
- Used custom DCRES optimization techniques. It means faster loadings and less Dreamcast reader
noise.
- Selfboot.
About the game:
- It has VGA Box support.
Other comments:
- "Extras" folder in the pack contains some useless stuff.
- Release comes with covers.

Extracting files:
Use 7-zip. For unpacking the RAR files inside archive, you can use WinRAR.
Burning files:
Alcohol 120% probably can burn all extensions, but I recommend Disc Juggler for CDI files.

It works under chankast, but not under nulldc, strange,i thought nulldc is better i prefer using it.I know the rule says go to truble shooting section but that isnt the smartest rule, why?Cause some people have internet cap and dont own a DC,almost 1gb wasted on something that wont work when you have 5gb cap...thats pain. Its not only more comfortable but lets be honest how many of you goes to the trouble shooting section before downloading the game?
The 2 missing buttons mentioned before would be L2 and R2 well i love DC but i do miss those 2 aswell:)
