The NTSC version will be upped right after the Pal version. Still uploading, but here are the peices already upped. Both discs are in .img format with the .sub and .ccd. Arcadia is a magical world in which folks float through the air on giant airships. A young and lively air pirate, named Vyse--who leads the swashbuckling Blue Rogue pirates--spends most of his time traveling from floating island to floating island. While touching down on the Valuan Empire one fateful day, Vyse and his sidekick Aika rescue a mysterious girl, named Fina, who was captured while trying to find six magic crystals that are used to summon Gigas--powerful ancient weapons. Naturally, the Valuans want the Gigas for their own malevolent political plans; Vyse, Aika, and Fina, then, set out to find the precious, scattered crystals and fight enemies (both human and nonhuman) to keep the world safe from tyranny.
Graphically, Skies of Arcadia is surreal and stunning. In total, there are six huge lands to explore, with many different kinds of environments--such as villages, dungeons, forests, and deserts, as well as otherworldly locations.

The turn-based combat system is effective, with more than 70 customizable weapons to use (based on different colors) and more than three-dozen magic spells (and special attacks), as indicated by the game's "spirit bar," shown on the screen. The visuals during the fight scenes might cause your jaw to fall to the ground, with its bright lights and mesmerizing colors and textures.

Well, I got my hands on patched images of this game, and the gameplay is abysmal. There is a constant frameskip, and it gets tiring. My firstborn child to you (I'm 13, so it may take some time before you recieve this end), as well as a game from my Trade List (check my sig), for the NTSC version :)

Are you referring to the download in this thread? Because this one is in Spanish and I see no way to change the language.

EDIT: For whatever reason the game switched the DC language to Spanish so I had to go to the Configuration in DC Menu and switch it to English. The game boots up in English now.

Right i've downloaded the first disc(because i'm new to dreamcast emulation and i don't won't to blow my limit on something that doesn't work). any way I tried running it came up with cheat screen which i skipped and then it crashed. Any way i then downloaded the 3.01 fix for the echelon version and now i get a msgbox with the error "io control" "error" I have no idea what it means or how to fix it can someone help me my dreamcast is already screwed and my second disc of the games broke plse plse i really want to play this again.

by the way i've tried it with both Bios the spanish (PAL) and the NTSC US same thing though.

Doesn't matter found out the problem i had a later version of draemon so i got the 3.29 version works fine with the patch couple of bugs but works excellent garhh so cool

Hi, i'm back this time i've patch'd the discs up. and cool skies of arcadia any way I tried running the echelon fixed disc 2 but it loads shows a black screen after the sega license and goes back to the dreamcast menu any help, or does it work when you swap discs after completing the first game. please help

Anyways, this looks interesting, I might get it when I get my 'Cast, but I don't really like RPGs, my favorite being Chrono Cross: it has no random battles. Ehh, might get it. I downloaded all the files n@ndo uploaded and got the image with winrar, no problem there. But i can't burn the image not with clonecd, ultraiso not even with nero (after converting the image to .nrg).
Anyone had the same problem?
What am I missing?

I'd already tried with Alcohol but it didn't work even with those settings. I'll try buying Cd's from other manufacturers, I've read that some types of cd's suck.

Did you try mounting the ISO to a virtual CD-ROM drive using Daemon Tools, then simply copying that pseudo disc to your actual, physical burner using DiscJuggler?

I have got a question: i am trying to play it on nullDC 1.6 beta, so i wanted to convert these ".img"-files into ".bin"-files with MagicIso and then into ".cdi"-files with bin2boot programm, but it doesnt work as usual. any other suggestions on how to run this game on nullDC? The Echelon rip is the best there is as far as backups that fit on 80min CD-R's.
I found and NTSC-U but it won't load the second disc. I bought this one.:thumbsup:

This game was originally 2 full GD-ROM's. Each were over 1GB in size.

We now give you this whole game in a simple 1.4 GB download that fits

on 2 80 Minute CDs with no content downsampled or modified.



Other people may have tried to split this game up on several CDs, but

the swap points were simply a pain in the ass to use and find. We

never attempted splitting this game, as its nature does not allow

for that to be done efficiently.


We decided to take a new approach to this game. We have once

again revolutionized the way rips are made on consoles and made

history. We compressed all of the game data on this game, and coded

an on-the-fly decompressor to be run whenever data is read from

the CD. After some optimizations and fooling around, this ended up

working surprisingly well. The load times are not as bad as you

might think, and the game is very playable. The only glitch that

you might notice in this game is that the music sometimes starts

to skip during cutscenes because it cannot be streamed fast enough.

There is nothing that can be done about this, but it is very minor

and only happens on some cutscenes.



So, today we present you this latest masterpiece in ripping and set

a new standard for how rips are done in the future. This is the

European version which is Multi-Language. It contains the following

languages: English, French, Spanish, and German. It is already

forced to display in 60 HZ. We also included a nice +16 Trainer on

Just a quick message for people who are pretending they know something and are berating the release. ECHELON really pulled it out of the bag with this one considering the time they had to release the game, and the general playability and stability without ripping or down-sampling content, and moreover created an on-the-fly encoder/decoder which with a little messing works fine, and after a while playing it, you don't notice the skips at the start of the battle. I played a DCP release of this game, and the first I got crashed after the first battle, and the other worked but was seemingly downsampled. So, just as a note - if you think this release is shit, you're talking out of your arse - if you want to do better than ECHELON or DCP has, then by all means go get your GDROM version of the game, rip it and release it on 2 CD-R's with no downsampling or content removal or in-game load lag. Good luck.

In terms of PC release terminology - this isn't a rip; no content was removed. Do better on a 80min disk and I'll tip my hat to you.

I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong thread but, I have tried numerous times to get the 2nd disc working on my DC to no avail! I have wasted 5 cd's in the past 8 hours! The first disc works no problem! (except the expected skips on decompression) But the 2nd one refuses to do anything even with Utopia v1.1! I have 2cd's left and I would like to use one of them for Berserk... Please help!

Is there any news on a NTSC version of this? It may prove smaller than the PAL version, what with the lack of foreign text on the disc. While I am getting the Echelon version, I'm still not convinced by the claims that there has been no tampering unless otherwise stated on their release.

In terms of PC release terminology - this isn't a rip; no content was removed. Do better on a 80min disk and I'll tip my hat to you.

With regards to the release terminology, I've not seen the term "RIP" used alongside the release name, but it is implied with some games that content is down-sampled in.

There has been tampering. The very process of compressing a GD-ROM and then self-booting it is tampering with the originally released binaries. Things have obviously been changed. There is actually a release of the PAL version which was done by a legend called DCP - I have a copy somewhere.

I have personally burnt both, and they work fine. You need to make sure you maintain the same format and not allow DiscJuggler to "fix" it. Also, things like Alcohol seem to cock up the burned CD, in previous experience. K3B works fine.

why does everyone assume that just because this release is PAL, that it won't play on a US dreamcast. its working on my dreamcast just fine. im like lvl 20 and it never crashed yet.

Edit: oh crap i spoke too soon. I'm lvl 26 now but my dreamcast reboots the instant I reach nasrad. i tried 20 times now same result. i guess ill try reburning the bastard. otherwise ill have to download the GDI and rip it myself. anyone else played this on a dreamcast and got farther than nasrad?

edit: nvm, i solved it by removing the echelon trainer. I didnt think i'd have to do that to play it on a physical dreamcast. but oh well.

I have not been able to burn a working copy of this game. I have downloaded from many sites, but all the images don't seem to burn properly. I cannot use Alcohol 120% or discjuggler, because I don't have the means to pay for them. I can use either Nero or bootdreams. I don't have 99 minute cds. Can someone tell me how to burn the echelon .cdi rip of these cds using bootdreams? when i try, i get an error about an unknown track file mode 2 2352. can someone help me?

Has anyone been able to use the SOAPatcher on this and have the 2nd disc work?
This does contain the black screen inventory bug that comes up with NullDC and I would love to play any version without this bug! It's maddening and where I live I cannot find a Dreamcast for the time being (can't afford one due to temporary lack of income anyway) I do prefer the GDI dumps only because they do not have the delayed sound but I hate playing for a couple hours and then I forget to save and all of a sudden a black screen!
I've used the SOAPatcher a few times on this version and the 2nd disc never loads and after the initial run the first disc doesn't load anymore... (although this might be due to dc_flash_wb.bin corrupting, I'm not certain)
Sorry for asking for help here but I can't discuss this version on the NullDC forums... >.>

again revolutionized the way rips are made on consoles and made
history. We compressed all of the game data on this game, and coded
an on-the-fly decompressor to be run whenever data is read from
the CD. After some optimizations and fooling around, this ended up
working surprisingly well. The load times are not as bad as you
might think, and the game is very playable. The only glitch that
you might notice in this game is that the music sometimes starts
to skip during cutscenes because it cannot be streamed fast enough.
There is nothing that can be done about this, but it is very minor
and only happens on some cutscenes.

So, today we present you this latest masterpiece in ripping and set
a new standard for how rips are done in the future. This is the
European version which is Multi-Language. It contains the following
languages: English, French, Spanish, and German. It is already
forced to display in 60 HZ. We also included a nice +16 Trainer on

Since it is split up in XX parts, do you need all parts to unwrap the 2 cdi files or can you do it seperately (only download some parts to unwrap the first cdi file , and then proceed to the other one)?

I have some storage problems with my PC :(

Also, can you select 50hz-modus , because it is PAL? (i have an old tv-monitor that can only display 50hz it seem, because running on 60hz would cause some flickering.....)

your tv should be fine since these games are region free i have this version and i have a usa dreamcast there a little lag in the battle system but its not that noticable just download all the parts and extract some people name it 1 rar file other give each cd a rar file this game requires 2 disk

No bootdisc (this game is selfboot) and every game becomes region free when you play it off a cd-r.

im having a problem with this game and a couple more.

It only boots in 60hz... so the image is flickering all the time o.o wich makes it unplayable obsiosly... i want to know if thers a way to make it boot at 50hz (like a boot disc to make the game run at 50hz) or if i need a version of this game (and others) to have a 50/60 switcher at the begin of the game (just like sonic adventure 1pal original).

anyone know if I could play this on my NTSC console with no problems? Would I just need a boot disk?


I think that if you search for the ntsc version that would fix your problem. No NTSC game so far as worked on my Pal console but all Pal games have worked just fine.

you just burn it with discjuggler or alcohol 120. that's all

Burned the game using Alcohol 120%. Put it in the Dreamcast, it loaded all the way to the point where it warns against people having seizures during gameplay, then got a black screen and then nothing. Anyone else have this problem?
