before you can judge one thing you must try, as for that game your talking it could be eitheir dos or some incompatible plugins he used also the chance of wrong configurations too, as for this one i tested in various diferent comps to even make sure the plugins i use are perfect for all both weak and powerful comps, now if you trust me or not its up to you.

i vever had ANY problem running ANY MUGEN game i have (5 by now...) even in the first run so...

stop whining, of course it takes some time learning the basics, but if i could make MUGEN run, add chars, stages,music,lifebars,etc... i think everybody can do it.

i REALLY nedd a complete set of Melty Blood chars... and a Guily GEar's Bridget that works ¡¡¡¡

Mine have bridget from guilty gear slash, the author did good work on it, as for melty blood react i have all except shiki thono since he was the only one not perfect and i have nanaya to replace him lol also kishima is from melty blood cadenza.

i mean, i don't have to add some "hidden" file or some shit like that... is just that, some chars of another games, don't work in my mugen or they're buggy as hell, even when they work in the "original" mugen game...

my apologys for the live links, as for mugen chars to move to another it will be all ok except eva 01,02 because you have to move some files that are in data folder wich are from eva 01,02 as for rest chars they can be moved to another with no problems.

I would suggest a dual boot with 98 if you have uptodate OS. As for taking characters ther was a program @ mugen fury website to convert characters to certain ver (can't remeber now).

Cap you can change the music to your own you just have to rename it match the other files.

Its better for a person to make their own game. So they can know about mugen and can make it how they like it. It may crash for many reasons. ex: pressing wrong keys, your comp year, bad select or missing a char, bad stage(Im just saying there may be nothing wrong with your game respectebly.) Well, it crashes in both arcade and team. more so when it's 1 on 2 or 2 on 2. but even in training it'll crash and i gotta ctrl alt delete to get out. Now i'm not sure but i believe that it was crashing before i added some characters. i'll unrar it again just to make sure. for the most part i'm using a high-end machine so i don't know what the problem is. I'm guessing that your's doesn't crash? could it be direct x or something?

yeah i think it'd be best if i start from scratch. i kept hearing about it so i decided to download this one to see what it's like, and it's addictive and fun but the constant crashes take away from it. so if u could i'd appreciate a little tut so that i could start my own.

UNZIP and open the data folder then go to select...
go all the way down...
and ex
Ryu, stages/shotokan_temple.def, order=5
see its the chars name then a , stages(stating its on stages)/shotokan_temple.def(name of stage you have to include .def)
and a , order=5(order of char) I'll explain later.
you get chars from www.streetmugen.com at lutadores at chars.
note: when you get a char unzip to a folder and make sure the name
of the char in the def file is the same as the folder name. AND PLACE UNDER
CHARS AND ONLY CHARS! Then we will go to stretch and full screen settings but first familiarize yourself with adding chars...
Still to explain: Stages/more chars/screenpacks/lifebars. Most of the stuff can be found at docs folder at the download I gave you...It explains how to add stuff... Oh there are tons of chars to mugen and alot of websites... Streetmugen is just easier for newbies.

All I do is get a screenpack from a website ex: www.streetmugen.com
and get the screenpack and put the files in font and data. If you dont know wich ones just put everything in font folder then in data yes it will replace your files including your select files...

For Tohno Shiki, you could use rouge noir's version of Tohno Shiki. IMO rouge noir's version is the best.

Cap'n Spaulding I can't believe you don't like Mugen. These are essentially customizable Street Fighter games! Seriously, the Beats of Rage makers and the Mugen makers need to get together, because some of them BOR characters are really hurtin' for more moves, whereas Mugen could benefit from more solidity/common parameters.


PS: I'm not a programmer so my criticisms are just personal opinions.

Have been interested in mugen lately but being real pissed off at it's not allowed to post full mugen games in all those mugen sites.All bs and crap.Those guys think you have to be good at computers and dig the net to gather chars and stages and build a game in weeks just to sit down and enjoy half an hour a day...that's lame ; just like saying if you need a software ; code it yourself ; if you want a manga than draw it on your own...comical
